Well , Hello all!!!! I have been off work since May 11th, due to back problems. I am a barber and after standing about 10 minutes,,,,have severe pain in left butt and left leg goes numb. Same thing happens when I go walking. I looked all that up and it seems to be called NEUROGENIC CLAUDICATION. I am on short term disability through work but that runs out on Aug. 16th. In July I appled for State of Mich. disability......by doing so,you must also apply for Federal SSI/SSDI.....which is difficut to get. It can take 4 months before you here anything.....and 60%of all first time applicants are denied.........and an appeal taks two years.
Have had MRI-back X-rays and a doppler test. The neurosurgeon that I saw said that it was no big deal and transferred me off to his pain management doctor of who I will see on Aug.3rd. Made an appt. to see an Orthopedic doctor on the 7th. The MRI shows that I have scar tissue from a previous back surgery.......of which physical therapy will do nothing for. It would be great if I could find a job that only requires sitting with just a little walking. Cannot go back to barbering. So, don't know what I will do. Just know that it's boring sitting around all the time!!!!
